Yield Guild Games (YGG)  announced the extension of Season 10 of its Guild Advancement Program (GAP), marking the final installment of the long-running initiative as the crypto gaming guild protocol shifts its focus toward a new chapter in web3 game publishing through YGG Play.

GAP Final Season

In an X post, YGG encouraged gamers to join and make the most of the final season, with key deadlines including the season extension ending on August 1, 2025, and appeals and approvals closing two weeks after, on August 15.

“This isn’t just another season—it’s the grand finale of an era. Make your mark in YGG history and squeeze every last drop of value from GAP before it’s gone forever.”

According to the crypto gaming guild protocol, the decision marks a strategic shift toward a more evolved and scalable approach to community engagement and web3 game publishing.

In a response to BitPinas inquiry, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon clarified that the end of GAP does not mean the end of questing for the YGG community.

“We want to improve the way we approach questing and incentives to cater to our growing community. While the current platform and reward system will come to a close, after all the quests and rewards claiming ends, we’ll transition to a new system with updated tools, rewards, and formats for engagement.”

Gabby Dizon, Co-Founder, Yield Guild Games

YGG also added that the new system will move away from seasonal quests in favor of a more flexible questing framework tied to the schedules of games and YGG’s Future of Work (FoW) partners, adding that community programs and bounties will continue, but the emphasis will shift to rewarding skill-building, top players, and active contributors.

“Basically, our priority for rewards is more for these important community members who actively contribute and step up their gaming skills, and creating opportunities that encourage friendly competition for prize pools versus simply rewarding anyone who can complete game quests or Future of Work tasks. We also expect more guild-based opportunities and campaigns, since it’s the best way we found to mobilize people towards games and quests based on what we’ve learned in GAP.”

Sam Cruz, Community Ops Co-Lead, Yield Guild Games

With onchain records documenting the achievements of every GAP participant, Dizon emphasized that YGG sees its community as a key asset in shaping the future of web3 gaming.

“Every single GAP participant over the years has contributed to the development of the web3 gaming industry in their own way…. They will be a huge driving force as YGG expands into game publishing.”

Introducing YGG Play

Looking ahead, YGG will focus on the rollout of YGG Play, the crypto gaming guild protocol’s upcoming web3 game publishing arm aimed at establishing the “Casual Degen” genre, according to the co-founder.

For the team, they aim to apply its experience in game development and promotion to support other studios, offering comprehensive services that include development assistance, funding, marketing, distribution, and community management.

Dizon further noted that YGG’s expansion into game publishing through YGG Play reflects its mission of empowering its community through emerging technologies. He highlighted that the initiative is expected to provide new opportunities for up-and-coming game studios to tap into YGG’s experienced player base and established guild network.

The organization noted that more details about the publishing platform will be shared soon as preparations continue behind the scenes.

“YGG turns five this October. With our expansion into game publishing and all the opportunities this will create for our community, we are incredibly bullish on the next five years. By 2030, YGG will be the dominant force in web3 game publishing.”

What is GAP?

The Guild Advancement Program by Yield Guild Games is a community-driven token distribution initiative designed to reward members for meaningful contributions to the guild and its broader ecosystem.

Launched in 2022, GAP gamifies engagement by offering achievement-based tasks, ranging from in-game performance to content creation and DAO participation, where users earn $YGG and non-transferable NFTs that represent their accomplishments and reputation.

Each GAP season runs for several weeks and features a variety of achievements curated by YGG and community leaders. Members can choose from quests, with rewards distributed based on task completion.

Last year, YGG community member and web3 gamer Shanks turned a ₱5,000 investment into ₱52,000 through Season 6 of the initiative.
